California Fire Mechanics Academy Inc. is the oldest and
largest Emergency Vehicle Technician Training Academy in the U.S. Since
1971 we have been providing the finest training opportunities for
emergency apparatus repair and maintenance. Our workshops are very
hands-on, giving participants not only the theory but the opportunity to
work on trucks, take pumps apart, get their hands on the actual
apparatus they'll be using in the field.
We hope your visit here will provide you with information regarding who and what we are and answer any questions you might have.

Many of you might be familiar with this logo and the phrase
"Without Us, They Walk"
What you might not know is that this logo was designed by retired SacMetro Fire Mechanic,
Ed Schultz, who has never taken any royalties for its creation and allowed fire mechanics all over the world to use this symbol. Ed was also responsible for bringing the antique fire engines to Spring Academy each year. Ed has done so much for the fire mechanic profession. So, when he was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer in October, SacMetro had a great turnout with the Pink "All Cancers, All People" Engine to honor Ed Schultz.
Ed Schultz passed away on October 28 after a brief battle with cancer. He will be missed.
Please keep Ed's wife, Marilyn, and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
