Welcome to the California Fire Mechanics Academy Inc.
CFMA is the oldest and largest Emergency Vehicle Technician Training Academy in the U.S. Since 1971 we have been providing the finest training opportunities for emergency apparatus repair and maintenance. Our workshops are very hands-on, giving participants not only the theory but the opportunity to work on trucks, take pumps apart, get their hands on the actual apparatus they'll be using in the field.

Memorial Educators Award
Jimmy Faulkner,

Fire Rescue and a California Fire Mechanics AcademyFire Pumps & Accessories instructor, was
recently honored for his efforts throughout the industry at the 2012 International
Association of Fire Chiefs
Conference held in Denver, Colorado this year.Jimmyreceived the 2012 Boyd Cole
Memorial Educators Award
presented by theInternational
Association of Fire Chiefs' Emergency Vehicle Management Section. This award is
presented to a person who has given outstanding support to EVTs as either
trainer, educator or facilitator. Jimmy has more than 30 years experience working on fire and emergency
apparatus. In addition to running the fleet services division of Dallas Fire, Jim's career includes having previously worked for companies such as American LaFrance, Special Equipment Services Inc, Crash Rescue Equipment Service and Farmer's Branch Fire Department. Jimmy is a very popular instructor and has instructed annually at the
CFMA for many years as well as havingpresented many times at the annualFire
Department Safety Officers Association's Apparatus Symposium, held in Florida
